Masks are not a substitute for social distancing! The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended that the general public wear cloth face coverings – not surgical masks or N-95 respirators – in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (like grocery stores and pharmacies). But the CDC warns that face coverings should not give anyone a false sense of security! Social distancing and hand washing are still very important protective measures and should be continued. On Wednesday, July 1 st , Lincoln County Health Department received notice that an additional individual has tested positive for novel coronavirus in Lincoln County. This individual, a male in his 30s, traveled through from out of state and had direct contact with a known positive. After investigation, the Health Department has determined that there has been very limited contact with other Lincoln County residents and direct contacts have been notified. This case will not be added to the state coronavirus map because he is not a resident and is not isolating in Lincoln County. Please remember, if you have not received a call from the Health Department regarding contact with a case, you are not a considered a direct contact.
